You are creative

You are creative, resourceful, and whole. I don’t even have to know you to know that!

Don’t believe me that you’re creative? Have you ever found a solution to a problem? That requires creativity. Congratulations you creative bitch.

People get creativity, and artistic creativity confused. I used to think that artists were creative, and there were creative people and not creative people. The truth is, we all have creativity inside of us. Creativity is what enables us to solve problems, find solutions, and find answers.

Creativity in the traditional sense shows up in artistic realms, but that is not the only space creativity lives. Creativity shows up in a lab, in a law firm, and even at your corporate job!

Creativity simply means finding new solutions through the use of imagination or original ideas. Ever had an original thought? Look at you go, you little content creator!

Creativity requires us to look inward. You can’t inspire the world by trying to be like it. Genuine creativity comes from not trying to show off, but to show yourself.

Creativity takes confidence.

Does that feel intimidating? That’s because it is. It feels terribly unsafe to look inward. The reason it feels unsafe is not because it is unsafe, but because we’re not used to it. Anything we are not used to, or are unfamiliar with, our brain flags as ‘unsafe’ and resists it.

Trusting yourself is new, so your brain deems it as dangerous. Predictability is the brain’s happy place, and it will do its darndest to keep you in your comfort zone. The most expansive and wholesome thing you can do is look inward.

Trust yourself more than any single person around you. Know that you do not need others’ opinions or validations to live. The only things you require to live cannot be taken from you. Validation and opinions can be taken away, therefore they don’t make the cut.

You have an enormous amount of knowledge within you just waiting for you to tap in.

How do you look inward? Get to know your inner voice versus anxiety.

Anxiety has a lot of fears and rationalizing behind it. Your inner voice is simply knowing. When you’re weighing your options, see which option holds a lot of stories, and which option just feels right.

“Intuition is knowing, without knowing how you know.” – Dr Didi Firman

Our creative voice/inner voice/intuition are all very quiet, and our emotions and doubts are very loud. We need time to sit with ourselves to hear our inner voice.

Also hold an awareness that if you are asking yourself to make a decision after you have been stressed all day at work, what you’re going to hear is an answer fueled by fear and anxiety because they are at the surface.

In the spiritual world, a lot of us can get lost looking for signs. We need to remind ourselves that we have everything we need to make a decision within us. The spirits LOVE when you can trust yourself (I say this as I use my pendulum to decide whether or not to get takeout tonight. No one is perfect, and I just COULDN’T DECIDE OK?!). We already have the answers. We don’t need signs, we just need space and time to listen.

Give a lot of weight to the things you hear when your mind is quiet, and don’t trust the things your brain rambles off while worrying.

The thing is, when something is right, you know it. When you are second-guessing, and confused, that’s probably because the situation is not right. Alignment and intuition have no second guesses that come along with them. When it is right, you just simply know. It is both; that easy, and at the same time, SO not easy.
