Self Like Tips

  1. Do not compare any parts of your body.
Ok – once you break the first rule, only do it with someone who has a similar body to you. Do they gain weight as easily as you? Do they carry their weight in the same places? Do they have the same lifestyle?
  2. Explore the fear around gaining weight. So you got really fat, what are you telling yourself about your worth and value when you gain weight? Does that apply to the people around you, or is it only you that loses value when you fluff up?
  3. How much weight have you lost from worrying about losing weight? Recognize we do not need to cling on to worries to motivate us. We can accept where we are now, and still make progress towards goals.
  4. What are the facts? Would you even ever allow yourself to get to a point that it’s out of control?
  5. Explore where your confidence comes from. For me, my confidence comes from feeling strong which is empowering because I can feel strong at any size.
  6. When you find yourself picking your appearance apart, give the critic a funny accent. “My thighs are soooo thick” In a mocking high pitched voice.
  7. Everytime you catch yourself saying something negative about your body (or yourself) take a moment and force yourself to name two things you really like about yourself.

With love,
